'CHELSEA SHOULD FORGET BAKAYOKO AND GIVE CHALOBAH A CHANCE!'

Image
The blues are reportedly close to signing the France international from Monaco, but one of their former coaches is not happy with the deal Chelsea should forget about signing Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco and give Nathaniel Chalobah a chance, according to Ray Wilkins. Bakayoko was an integral part of Monaco's midfield as they claimed the Ligue 1 title and reached the Champions League semi-finals, making 51 appearances in all competitions. His impressive displays earned a first senior France cap in a friendly against Spain last March. With reports Premier League champions Chelsea are circling and willing to pay in excess of £30million for Bakayoko,  former Blues assistant boss Wilkins expressed his dismay that Chalobah continues to be overlooked. "I was really disappointed to read they are looking at Bakayoko from Monaco," Wilkins told  talkSPORT . "He is 22 years of age, French and doesn't get near the national side, but it was quoted Chelse...

Victor Osimhen: I HAVE A POINT TO PROVE AT WOLFSBURG

Image
The Nig Victor Osimhen   is determined to silence his doubters at Wolfsburg after an indifferent debut campaign at the Volkswagen Arena. The 18-year-old appeared twice for the Wolves last season after undergoing a knee surgery that sidelined him for over 12 weeks, and the former Golden Eaglets’ forward admits the injury took the shine off him at the club. "I had knee injury and I was out for so long which is why I was unable to give my team what was expected of me,” Osimhen told  Goal. "But I believe next season, I am going to put in more hard work to prove to the coach that he can rely on me, and also to continue to work hard and by the special grace of God, continue to do well for both my club side and the national team.” He also claimed he is not in a hurry to force himself into Andries Jonker’s team, adding that he is understudying the likes of Mario Gomez, who has seen it all in football. "We have Mario Gomez, who is very experienced in football, wh...

WHO WILL WIN THE CONFEDERTIONS CUP?

Image
Outright Odds Odds: 2/1 The World champions are considered as the favourites to lift the trophy in Russia this year, although it appears that Joachim Low is using the event as an opportunity to give youth some vital tournament experience ahead of next year’s World Cup. There is no place in the squad for key players like Manuel Neuer, Mats Hummels, Toni Kroos or Thomas Muller, while 14 of the 23 selected are still in single figures in term of senior caps. In fact, with 30 to his name, Captain Julian Draxler can boast the most experience and he is joined by players like Emre Can, Joshua Kimmich and Jonas Hector. Although a gamble, it is very rare that the Germans get it wrong at major tournaments and they will fancy prevailing from Group B featuring Australia and Cameroon, so do not be surprised to see these players deliver the goods come July 2. Chile Outright Odds Odds: 9/4 The back-to-back Copa America champions are making their debut in this e...

Nigeria Football Federation to move venue, date for World Cup Qualifiers

Image
Nigeria are considering a change to both the date and venue for their 2019 World Cup qualifier against Cameroon, originally scheduled for the Godswill Akpabio Stadium Uyo in August. According to KweseESPN  that the match could now be played on 1 September, rather than the initial scheduled date of 28 August. And according to multiple sources within the NFF, the change is mussed to allow coach Gernot Rohr an extra training time with his squad ahead of the crunch Russia 2018 World Cup qualifier against rivals, Cameroon. More so, its was revealed that the Eagles will ditch the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo for the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port Harcourt — which tops the list of replacement venues, with the National Stadium Abuja as a fallback option. The pitch in Abuja has fallen into disrepair, but repair work is already going on with Lansard Ltd doing clean up while waiting for major rejuvenation for the now patchwork grass.

Mpape and Lemar can play at the top in the premier leage

goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has no doubt Kylian Mbappe, Thomas Lemar and the rest of France's "fantastic'' new generation would flourish in the Premier League. England were torn apart by the dynamic French attack on Tuesday evening, when Raphael Varane's video-assisted sending-off at the start of the second half surely prevented the margin of victory being greater than the 3-2 outcome. Ousmane Dembele, the 20-year-old Borussia Dortmund forward, capped a fine performance with the winning goal, which was set up by the outrageously talented 18-year-old Mbappe. The striker continues to be linked with a big-money exit from Monaco -- as does teammate Lemar, with Tottenham said to be among those interested in the attacking midfielder. Lloris grinned when asked if he had spoken to Lemar about Spurs, saying: "You are right to ask the question, but I cannot reply.'' And the France captain is enthralled by the potential of his young compatriots. "...
