ROBERT PATTINSON FIRED FROM TWILIGHT
Robert Pattinson has revealed he was almost sacked from Twilight during the very first film.
The star says he wanted his character, Edward Cullen, to be even more intense than he turned out.
The original Twilight was released in 2008 and helped launch the 31-year-old's career.
"I was so determined to make it so serious," he says in a new interview with New York Times.
"I was fighting with everybody in control all the time... to the point where I almost got fired."
But he says the behind the scenes struggle paid off in the finished movie.
"I like the first one having been so wrought," he explains.
And he says he has no regrets about his time playing a vampire heart throb.
"I think one of the best things, basically, about being a bit of a sell-out is [that] if you've done five movies in a series, you've had to accept some responsibility for playing the same character."
In his latest movie, Good Time, he is unrecognisable from his Twilight days, starring as a bank robber trying to get his brother out of jail.
